My Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
December 8, 2008
Outside my window...over cast cold and wet :)

I am thinking...that the days seem to pass so quickly. I am not sure if it is my age or busyness but they seem to pass faster than I can rightly keep up.

I am thankful for...the breath of life, loving family and friends and most of all for the Lord Jesus Christ who dwells within me forever. He is enough :)

From the kitchen...Ummmmm the yummy lingering smell and taste of homemade Carnival Squash soup :) I was gifted with a very small Carnival squash so I turned it into soup :) My recipe: Cook then puree squash with organic chicken broth to your desired consistency, add 2 tsp butter, pinch of garlic salt, pepper, a pinch of nutmeg, 1T of Turbinado sugar. Heat, top with a little dollop of sour cream-optional-then enjoy :) A slice of homemade bread would be great. Wish I had some right now :)
Yummy lunch with some left for later since I am home alone today ;)

I am wearing...Capri's, t-shirt and bare feet ;)

I am creating...blog stuff :)

I am going...not sure yet.

I am reading...God's Word :)

I am hoping...that the people who were at church on Sunday will have open hearts and hands toward the Long-term Care Residence of M.G. Hospital. That they will not only extend their hands and provide the needed items but-most important-that they will be filled with love and excitement to visit with the Residence on December 23 :)

I am hearing...Unto Us a Child is Born by an English Choir

Around the house...things are sort of getting done. More to do and here I sit typing.

One of my favorite things...I really enjoy Christmas. I love giving. When I receive the gift of giving I am filled with joy and excitement :) When I give someone something I do so with the heart that the greatest gift we can give is the one that continues to give. The handmade items that I give are always given with the hope that someday it will be given away--be it handed down to a family or friend or total stranger.

A few plans for the rest of the week: work on de-cluttering this house and finish the decorating. Hopefully I will be able to attend Bible Study this Thursday but I am not sure yet.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

The above photo is of handmade soft stuffed dolls--previously
blogged about. They are available for adoption :)
Rebecca of the Prairie is 36 inches
Suzie Sunshine is 22 inches
Baby Amy (sock doll) is approx. 10 inches

Sharon...just curious about Baby Amy. My sister's name is Amy and I am interested in your cute little doll. Maybe for Christmas, maybe for a house warming present in Jan. Let me know...you can email me you'd like.

It was so good to see you on Sunday! I wish I could pitch in for the adventure in giving. I don't know yet with my life sooooo topsy turvy right now. I will check with the Captain (TODR).

Love you.

Hey Kendra, Would you be able to visit with us during the Residence Christmas Party? One very important piece of info that I forgot to mention is that children are very welcomed as long as they are with parent(s) :) That is one way you can be a big important part of the Adventure :)
It was good for me to be with all of you Sunday :)

Amy,
You are so very welcome :)
I have so enjoyed getting to know all of you-via your blog sites-and have had many side splitting moments viewing the awesome photos that ya'll post.
I am so very grateful to our Creator God for creating two wonderful sisters to share with the rest of us :) I am sure that many, many people have been and continue to be blessed by you both :)
It is an honor and pleasure to love your sister Rebecca :) We-whole church family-are truly blessed by the whole Walker family.
Hope you stop by again some time.
Blessings,
Sharon
