Blue Saturday :)

What does one do on a very hot Saturday? They go out in the front yard early in the morning and pick blueberries :) Ha, ha, ha, got ya :) You thought I was going to post some blue tale about how terrible this day is . . . NOT ;) No, instead I want to thank my Abba for gifting us with blueberry bushes. They indeed are a great gift as this is our first summer here on Main Avenue and daily we see His hand of provision. Our Father has gifted us with many pre-existing edible and non-edible plants. From blueberry bushes all the way to the soon to be Sunflower heads planted by this amateur gardener, we are being provided for in a very interesting and down right fun manner.
About those fresh picked blueberries, Yum :) I haven't decided what to turn the mostly plump, mouth watering, and tasty delights into. Let’s see, blueberry cheesecake, yummy. Oh, that’s right my honey doesn't really appreciate the goodness of cheesecake. I know that is very hard to believe. He will eat it but not his favorite. Hum, how about blueberry pancakes, no, I have made those already. Wow, need some help here, need something different. Something out of this world yummy :)
Please help me decide what to make :)
So as to stir your imagination about blueberry recipes, I am including a photo I found off the net of . . . you guessed it . . . BLUEBERRIES :)

You HAVE to try this recipe for Blueberry Chutney Chicken!! It sounds too whacky to be good, but even my kiddos gobbled it up!
Grill/bake some boneless chicken breasts seasoned with garlic & lemon.
In a saucepan, combine 1 c. fresh blueberries, 1/3 c. water, I T Dijon mustard, 1 T. Jalapeno Pepper Jelly. Whisk over med/hi heat for 8-10 minutes until the berries break up.
Pour sauce over chicken and serve with Jasmine rice and sweet peas.
Yummy! I promise.

oh wow, that does sound sooooo good, thanks. It will be interesting to see if my honey will try it but even if he doesn't I must :) Not that fond of JalapeƱo Peppers but I will throw caution to the wind and just try it.
sounds yummy :)

If you hop over and read my Woman's Daybook you're going to think I read your blog first. I just blogged about what to make for breakfast tomorrow. All selections included blueberries. I'm thinking I might have to give CDJ's recipe a try.
