A Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today August 19, 2008

Outside My Window...I see the beautiful color green returning
as the most welcome rain falls to the earth.

I am thinking...Wow, where has the summer gone? In approximately 16 days I will be canning peaches.

I am thankful for...the coolness of this day and that my Abba loves me.

From the kitchen...dishes await my attention but the tea pot beckons me to return for one more cup as I attempt to share my life with you.

I am wearing...beige Capri’s and a soft knit top.

I am creating...something that I have talked about for years, a cookbook for our girls. Yup, I am finally attempting a bit of self publishing.

I am going...to plan something special for my honey for dinner as he has been working so hard. For the second night in a row, at or around midnight, he was called back to work. Praise and Thank God that he only has to drive 3 miles round trip. It used to be 44 miles.

I am reading...I Saw The Lord, A Wake Up Call For Your Heart By Anne Graham Lotz

I am hoping...my garden has enough time to finish growing as it has been a not so great produce year for this amateur gardener. I have learned a whole lot of what not to do.

I am hearing...Prayer for a Friend by Casting Crowns and thinking of all the wonderful sister’s out there who love the Lord Jesus with every breath they are blessed to draw deeply.

Around the house...is the quiet bubbling of the fish tank, a snoozing, snoring, wiggle waggle Aussie dog named Nana (dare not wake a sleeping wiggle waggle) and the not so rhythmic keys of my keyboard . . . all quiet on this home front so far today.

One of my favorite things... is listening to the wind in the high trees. It always sounds like the breath of God Most High. He is so powerful and I have a story of His great strength heard in the wind. Someday soon I will blog about it.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Get ready for Miss Linda’s visit tomorrow. I am very excited as we haven’t had time together in such a long time. Also, our oldest daughter and her husband will be by tomorrow afternoon so I need to prepare something special from the kitchen.

Here is picture thought I am sharing

A photo from about thirty years past. Daughters
Linda (sitting) and Heather with their favorite
Grandpa Don who has since went home
to be with the Lord.
I just love those two little Texas born,
blue eyed blonde's.

I miss you very much, but I am glad that your hunny-bunny is closer to work. It was really nice when Brian used to work on call and we finally moved so much closer. Now he doesn't work on call, but it is still nice.

I love your picture thought! So very cool.

Oh Kendra, I miss you all very very much. Hopefully I will be able to see you all very soon :)
I love that picture too :) My girls won't let me post updated ones of them. So for know I am restricted to the early years :)

Nice Daybook. It brings me just a little closer to you. Glad you were able to visit with Linda. A visit with Linda is always good for the soul. She is so wonderful. Love you.

Yes Rebecca, a visit from Linda is always, "Good for the soul," as you wrote. Sadly though, we were unable to meet as we had planned and have put it off until after Labor Day :(
That is such sad—good news—the Lord has her very busy working alongside Him in some very exciting work.

Rebecca and Kendra,
Just a note to say, "I love you, miss you, pray for you and appreciate the time you take to comment." :)
Thanks ;)
